During my second research assistantship at the Harvard Biodesign Lab, I built and developed a digital twin of an existing pneumatic robotic device (Medical Upper Limb/MUL) in MATLAB Simulink that assists hemiparetic individuals with activities of daily living. The purpose of this twin is to allow for rapid iterations of potential system configurations and their expected pneumatic performance without having to create a particular configuration in real life.

Alongside this Simulink system, I also created an empirical method to find specific important pneumatic parameters (sonic conductance and critical pressure ratio) of the components of the existing system that could then be inserted into the digital twin to allow for an accurate and comparable model.
